REAL FOOD. YUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since Wednesday, I've had two Whoppers, French fries and onion rings and an absolutely out-of-this world sundae from Baskin Robbins. I'm SOOOOOOO excited.
Having said that...I've got yet another doctor's appointment. This is a chemo doctor and is scheduled for February 1. Dr. Mundy had mentioned last week that he wanted to consult with a chemo doc, so here we are. I'll go in for bloodwork then and see what he says. Dr. Mundy didn't think it would be done, but he wanted to cover the bases.
So, teeth out on Tuesday. Chemo doc on Feb. 1. Not sure when the radiation will start, but I expect it the first week or two in February. And that's apparently where I'll experience some other problems. Radiation to the mouth/neck can cause all sorts of issues. It kills the salivary glands and also can seriously alter smell and taste. And for someone who loves to cook, that is horrible. All I can hope is that those two faculties will return after the radiation ends. And I expect I'll drop more weight (so far it's been about 35 pounds which I could stand to lose, but would have preferred a different method), but who knows how much. I know eating can be hard because the mouth and throat have issues.
So there we are. More next week after I get back from having the teeth pulled. We're not sure what time, but it should be very early. It's general anesthesia, so though it's outpatient, I don't expect to post anything until Wednesday.
Everyone have a great weekend! Me? I'm gonna cook. :)

Awesomeness about the food!!
Still sucks about the radiation, though. When my grandmother had the tumor surgery on her pituitary in '81, she had to have radiation therapy for a while afterward. The hair on her temples curled up completely tight and nappy --- otherwise her hair was stick straight. She had to keep her hair permed for the rest of her life. ;)
Mari,
Oh shit. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I don't want to hear that. I want all over curly hair, not just bits of it curling.
Gods. LOL
Donna
Hey, I had to share. ROFL You can pray it doesn't curl! :D Either that or take stock in the best straightener you can find. :runs really fast:
You might recall my dad lost his saliva for two straight years (from sarcoidosis) ... it's a pain in the ass, but it's definitely manageable.
He did have to be careful to get enough flouridated water, though, because saliva provides so much protection for the mouth, and drinking just bottled water (usually unflouridated) didn't provide nearly enough flouride. Of course, with your teeth issues, that may or may not be a problem! (He had to sip from a glass or bottle of water every few minutes, he got very well-hydrated, his skin looked great!)
Koi,
We're on bottled water here all the time because of the 80K cows shitting in the two feeder rivers that go into our lake. You can SMELL the chemicals they use to treat the water.
So I'll check with the radiation doc and see what he recommends that I do for the flouridation since I'm not going to get any that way.
D.
There is fluoridated bottled water ... you just have to read the bottle. :)
